Brands
Isabel Marant Étoile is the diffusion line of the Isabel Marant house, launched in 2000 in Paris — six years after Marant founded her eponymous main-line label in 1994. The line's foundational thesis was specific: translate the Isabel Marant main-line vocabulary (Parisian-bohemian wardrobe, embroidered blouses, fringed boots, wedge sneakers, draped jersey) into a more casual, more accessible day-wear price tier at €150-€500, while preserving the unmistakable visual voice of the main line. The Isabel Marant Étoile vocabulary settled around several recurring elements: hand-embroidered cotton blouses, lightweight jersey-and-cotton dresses, the line's signature fringed leather jackets and skirts, washed denim, soft suede ankle boots, and a colour palette anchored to soft pink, sage green, oxblood, indigo, ecru, and washed black. The line has been continuously coordinated with the main-line collection, with seasonal pieces explicitly designed to layer with main-line items rather than to stand independently. Étoile is part of the same independent Isabel Marant company controlled by Marant and her husband Jérôme Dreyfuss. The diffusion line distributes through all Isabel Marant flagship stores (Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, Los Angeles, and the broader 70-store international network) plus a wide international wholesale presence through SSENSE, Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa, MATCHES, the major luxury department stores, and a substantial Italian and Asian department-store distribution. Étoile has been one of the most successful diffusion-line examples of how to extend a French luxury house into a more accessible day-wear price tier while preserving the original brand voice.
