Low Classic
Low Classic was founded in 2009 in Seoul by Lee Myung Sin (이명신), a Korean designer who had trained at the Royal Academy of Antwerp. The brand's name is a direct statement of intent — 'low' (subtle, quiet) and 'classic' (timeless, restrained). The first collections established a vocabulary of clean tailored coats, soft-shoulder blazers, neutral colour palettes, and a deliberate refusal of trend-driven seasonal change.
The Low Classic vocabulary positions the brand within the wider Korean version of 'quiet luxury' — alongside Studio Nicholson references, the post-Phoebe Philo Céline language, and the kind of investment-dressing customer base that the K-fashion industry historically has not served. The product canon is built on a few perfected silhouettes: the Long Coat, the Wool Trouser, the Cashmere Cardigan, the Mary Jane shoe — each iterated patiently across seasons.
Low Classic operates flagship stores in Seoul (Sinsadong, Hannam) and Tokyo, plus a small wholesale presence. The brand is independent. Lee Myung Sin continues as creative director and majority owner. Few Korean brands have built such a coherent, deliberately quiet voice over fifteen years, and few have done it while remaining independent of the K-pop styling ecosystem.
