Ensemble

Opened in 1987 inside the heritage Great Western Building in Kala Ghoda, Ensemble was the first store in India to present multiple Indian designers under one roof and is widely credited with creating the modern Indian couture market. Founders Tarun Tahiliani, his wife Sailaja and the late Rohit Khosla used the store to platform a new generation - Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Anamika Khanna, Anita Dongre, Sabyasachi - while preserving traditional embroidery and textile crafts. Now run by Tina Tahiliani Parikh, Ensemble has expanded to Delhi (DLF Emporio), Hyderabad and an online store, but the Mumbai flagship's columns-and-domes interior remains the spiritual home of the brand and a destination for brides preparing trousseau couture.
