Founded
2007
Goodhood was founded in 2007 in London by Kyle Stewart and Jo Sindle as a small multi-brand store on Coronet Street, Shoreditch — initially a 200-square-foot shop that became the seed for one of London's defining streetwear-meets-contemporary-menswear retailers of the post-2005 generation. The brand's foundational thesis was specific: stock the kind of inventory (early Stüssy, Engineered Garments, Norse Projects, A.P.C., Maison Kitsuné, Comme des Garçons SHIRT, the Japanese brands not otherwise available in London) that wasn't easy to find outside specialised channels. The Goodhood vocabulary expanded through the 2010s as the store moved to a much larger space at 151 Curtain Road in Shoreditch (the present flagship), with the offering expanding to include womenswear, lifestyle products (incense, candles, books, ceramics), and the Goodhood in-house apparel and accessories programme. The Goodhood Exclusive collaboration capsule programme has produced limited collaborations with adidas, Comme des Garçons, Hender Scheme, Maple, New Balance, Nike, Norse Projects, Saturdays NYC, Stüssy, Sunspel, and dozens of others. The brand is independent and held by Stewart and Sindle. Goodhood operates the Curtain Road flagship plus a substantial e-commerce platform shipping globally. The retailer stocks approximately 200 brands across menswear, womenswear, and lifestyle goods. Goodhood has been one of the defining London-anchored multi-brand stores of the streetwear-meets-contemporary-menswear conversation, particularly notable for its position in the Shoreditch creative-industry cultural network and its early adoption of Japanese and Scandinavian brands in the UK.
