Sincerely Tommy
Sincerely Tommy was founded in 2014 in Brooklyn by Kai Avent-deLeon as a multi-brand boutique in Bedford-Stuyvesant that became one of the defining post-2010 American Black-owned curated retail operations and a primary stockist for emerging Black, Brown, and women designer brands across menswear and womenswear. The Sincerely Tommy premise—that emerging Black-and-Brown designer brands needed a curated retail anchor that combined editorial buying with the kind of community-aware retail context that the broader American luxury retail ecosystem wasn't delivering—proved out commercially and culturally through the 2010s.
The Sincerely Tommy vocabulary built up around an exceptional emerging-designer pipeline focused on Black, Brown, and women designers: Mowalola, Brother Vellies, Bode, Telfar, plus the broader emerging American and African diasporic designer brand pipeline. The store also operates an integrated café-and-event programming context that anchors the broader Bedford-Stuyvesant creative community conversation, with the store hosting community gatherings, designer trunk shows, and the broader cultural programming that distinguishes Sincerely Tommy from peer-class New York curated retail.
Sincerely Tommy operates from its Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn flagship plus a robust e-commerce platform. The store's customer base—heavily skewed toward New York's Black, Brown, and creative-class community plus the broader American emerging-designer-curious customer network—treats Sincerely Tommy as the defining post-2014 American Black-owned curated retail anchor. For Brooklyn and broader American customers building an emerging-designer wardrobe through the post-2014 era, Sincerely Tommy has been one of the defining retail destinations.
