Sneakersnstuff (SNS) was founded in 1999 in Stockholm by Erik Fagerlind and Peter Jansson as a small physical sneaker store at Åsögatan 124 in Södermalm, opening with the explicit thesis of bringing the kind of limited-release sneaker inventory (early Air Max releases, Nike Dunk SBs, the Adidas Originals revival product) that was extremely difficult to access in Sweden at the time. The store's name was a deliberate joke about the limited variety of the early product range.
The Sneakersnstuff vocabulary expanded through the 2000s and 2010s into a major sneaker-and-streetwear retail and e-commerce platform: a buyer-led brand list anchored to Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Reebok, ASICS, Saucony, Converse, plus the broader streetwear apparel offering, an extensive SNS Exclusive collaboration programme (the SNS × adidas, SNS × New Balance, SNS × ASICS, SNS × Saucony, and SNS × Reebok releases have produced some of the most-collected European-anchored sneaker collaborations of the 2010s), and the iconic SNS in-house apparel programme.
Sneakersnstuff is owned by Capital D (a Swedish private-equity firm that acquired a majority stake in 2019). The retailer operates flagship retail in Stockholm (Åsögatan, the original 1999 store; Norrlandsgatan — the larger downtown flagship), Berlin (Mitte), Paris (Le Marais), London (Soho), New York (Greenwich Village), Los Angeles (Fairfax Avenue), Tokyo (Aoyama), Taipei, plus a substantial direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform. The retailer has been one of the defining European-anchored sneaker-and-streetwear stores of the post-1999 generation, with a particularly strong position in the New Balance and ASICS collaboration ecosystem.
