Kassl Editions
Kassl Editions was founded in 2016 in Amsterdam by Daphne Karnezis and Suzanna Koevoets, two Dutch designers who had previously worked at Adam Lippes and Hugo Boss. The brand emerged from their shared frustration that outerwear in the contemporary luxury market was too either-too-casual or too-corporate: there was no luxury vendor producing serious technical outerwear that was both functional and editorially sharp.
The Kassl Editions vocabulary settled around several signatures: the long oiled-cotton trench (the brand's defining product), the rubber-finished raincoat, the down-padded technical jacket, and a heavy emphasis on Dutch-textile-mill materials with hand-engineered details (welt-bound pockets, contrast lining, snap closures). The colour palette runs from oxblood and forest to chalk and slate. The brand has dressed Phoebe Philo and Cate Blanchett and is a fixture of editorial campaigns.
Kassl Editions remains independent, with Karnezis and Koevoets as co-creative directors. The brand operates from Amsterdam and produces in Italy and Portugal. Distribution is through SSENSE, Mytheresa, Net-a-Porter, MR PORTER, and a small set of European luxury retailers. Few outerwear-focused brands of the past decade have so quickly become a respected editorial reference for luxury rainwear and technical coats.
