Paris Georgia

Founded
2015
Founder
Paris Mitchell Temple, Georgia Cherrie
Paris Georgia was founded in 2014 in Auckland, New Zealand by Paris Mitchell-Temple and Georgia Cherrie as a New Zealand-anchored contemporary womenswear brand specifically focused on what they described as 'investment-anchored elegant Pacific-Rim luxury.' The brand's foundational thesis was specific: produce a contemporary womenswear vocabulary anchored to deliberately small, deliberately edited collection of elegant ready-to-wear and eveningwear pieces using high-grade Italian and Japanese-mill fabrics, at a contemporary luxury price tier well above the broader Australasian fashion category. The Paris Georgia vocabulary settled around several recurring elements: soft-shouldered single-breasted blazers and tailored trousers in Italian-mill wool, slip dresses in silk-and-modal in deliberately understated colour combinations, deconstructed cotton-and-linen shirts, the brand's iconic high-cut bias-slip dresses and asymmetric evening pieces, and a colour palette anchored to ivory, bone, washed-pink, oxblood, washed-charcoal, navy, and the brand's recurring use of soft-grey and dust-cream. The brand has presented at New Zealand Fashion Week each season since 2015 and has expanded into international fashion-press visibility through the Met Gala, Cannes, and major industry-event red-carpet appearances. The brand is independent and held by Mitchell-Temple and Cherrie. Paris Georgia operates flagship retail in Auckland (Karangahape Road, the brand's home neighbourhood) plus international wholesale through SSENSE, MATCHES, Net-a-Porter, Mytheresa, the Webster, Lane Crawford, Holt Renfrew, and a curated set of contemporary-luxury-womenswear specialty retailers globally. The brand has been one of the defining post-2014 New-Zealand-anchored contemporary womenswear brands, with the deliberately-edited investment-anchored approach specifically anchoring the brand inside the broader Pacific-Rim 'quiet-luxury' conversation that has been continuously rewritten since 2020.
