REJINA PYO was founded in 2014 in London by Korean-British designer Rejina Pyo, a Central Saint Martins MA graduate who launched the brand specifically focused on what she described as 'sculptural-everyday womenswear.' The brand's foundational thesis was specific: produce a contemporary womenswear vocabulary that drew explicitly on architectural-sculpture references (the Donald Judd minimalist-cube tradition, Korean ceramics, Brutalist concrete-architecture proportions), rebuilt as wearable-everyday ready-to-wear at a contemporary luxury price tier (£200-£800). The REJINA PYO vocabulary settled around several recurring elements: deliberately sculptural-cut single-breasted blazers and tailored trousers with exaggerated proportions, soft-shouldered cotton-and-linen oxford shirts with deliberate-asymmetric construction, hand-printed silk-and-modal slip dresses, the brand's iconic 'Olivia' boxy blazer and 'Mia' wide-leg trouser, and a colour palette anchored to washed-navy, oxblood, soft-pink, ecru, washed-charcoal, mid-grey, and the brand's recurring use of saturated red, butter-yellow, and electric-blue. The brand has presented at London Fashion Week each season since 2015 and was a BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund recipient in 2019. The brand is independent and held by Pyo. REJINA PYO operates a flagship retail concept in London (Hackney — the brand's home studio space) plus international wholesale through SSENSE, MATCHES, Net-a-Porter, MR PORTER, the Webster, Lane Crawford, Boontheshop, and a curated set of contemporary-luxury-womenswear specialty retailers globally. The brand has been one of the more quietly successful post-2014 Korean-British contemporary womenswear brands, with the sculptural-everyday-luxury positioning specifically anchoring the brand inside the broader contemporary 'wearable-architectural-fashion' conversation.
