Everyday carry is like a game of Tetris. You only have so much room in your pockets, so it’s best to maximize what you carry to be as useful as possible.

That can be made a lot more fruitful with something like the Coinax, an incredibly tiny, yet still quite formidable and functional, EDC multi-tool. It saves a ton of space and weight, while offering a ton of utility.

Size matters not (sort of)

The Coinax is positively tiny. It’s even smaller than an Apple AirTag or a United States dollar coin. That means it can easily slip inside your pockets, even when they’re crowded.

In fact, this multi-tool is small enough to stash inside your jeans’ fifth pocket (you know, the one designed for pocket watches). So, there’s really no excuse not to carry it every day.

Of course, if your pockets aren’t your preferred carry locale, there are other options. Despite its size and sleekness, it still has a lanyard attachment point, making it easy to add to your keychain or even attach to your EDC or travel pack.

And if you’d rather keep it at home or at your workshop, it also has a magnet on the back. Yes, you could even use this as a refrigerator magnet between uses.

I’m not sure I’d say the possibilities are endless, but they’re certainly legion.

Material mayhem

But now, onto the good stuff: the construction and the utility.

As far as materials go, the Coinax is no slouch. The body is made from solid titanium, which makes it incredibly strong and durable, but also helps keep the weight down.

And the twin inserts, which deploy from either side via nail-nick-like holes, are made of Damascus steel, which is as beautiful as it is robust. Those inserts, by the way, offer a bunch of functions, including package opening, bottle opening, a driver tip and a scraper (and more, you’re sure to discover).

For something so small, it’s marvelously strong and offers plenty of functional value. And that’s all the more true when you consider it costs just about $35 apiece, making it a hell of a bargain, as well.

The Coinax tiny multi-tool is now funding on Kickstarter, with a starting price of just $35.
