Local Heroes
Founded in Warsaw by two twenty-year-olds, Karolina Slota and Arleta Szpura, Local Heroes began as a graphic-tee side project for friends and exploded into one of Poland's first global streetwear exports. Cara Delevingne, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna wore the brand's blunt slogan tees, and collaborations with Reebok and Converse followed. The aesthetic—candy-coloured, sloganed, internet-fluent—captured the Tumblr-to-streetwear pipeline of the mid-2010s and turned a Polish-language joke about 'local celebrities' into a worldwide girl-coded label still based out of Warsaw.
